U.S. Manufacturing Jobs On The Rise
This post from the Manufacturing Business Technology website describes how manufacturing jobs are shifting from abroad back to the United States. This shift is due to rising labor costs overseas as well as fuel costs for transportation.
This is very good news for the U.S. economy.
However, it should be noted that this particular company was successful in shifting employees back to the U.S. due to its highly automated manufacturing process, not government regulation.
Rather than give tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs, it would be wise for government to invest in the creation of benefits for small companies that retain jobs within in the United States. After all, productivity and thoughtfulness are what makes us take pride in the “MADE IN USA” label.
